Failed to place Photoshop file in Illutrator

Hi,  I am a new comer of Adobe world.

Below is my environment.

1. Windows 7 x64 OS with Ci7-6700, 24GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GT730

2. Photoshop CS3 v10.0

3. Illustrator CS3 v13.0.0

It was failed place any Photoshop file created in Illustrator.  There was no prompted message and no error message.

However, it was normal when any PDF file was placed.

Please help!

    If I understand you correctly then you are trying to bring Illustrator files into Photoshop. You have not said how you are trying to do that. If you open an Illustrator file while Photoshop is active by using the Open Document option under the File menu (Command-O on a mac and Control-O on a PC) then you will get a dialog window in which you can determine how you want to open the file. Alternatively if you copy and paste Illustrator art into an active window in Photoshop you will get a dialog asking if you want to import the Illustrator file as a Smart Object, Pixels, Path or Shape Layer. Either way you should have no problem bringing Illustrator into Photoshop.

    Start by checking your document color modes and things like color profiles for the PSDs. AI can't deal with all PS color modes and quirky color profiles can have all sorts of ill effects.
