Feature Request – Multiple Handle Selection and Manipulation in Illustrator

Hello Adobe team,

I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe would significantly improve the workflow for many users: the ability to select multiple handles (anchor point direction handles) and manipulate them simultaneously.

Currently, it’s only possible to adjust handles one at a time, which makes fine-tuning more time-consuming and less precise — especially when working with similar curves across different points. A feature that allows users to select and move multiple handles at once — either proportionally or freely — would greatly enhance efficiency.

This functionality would add even more power to the Direct Selection tool and give users greater control and speed when working with complex vector shapes.

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and for the amazing work you continue to do with Illustrator!

So I have to return to the old UserVoice in order to vote for this basic vector function which I didn’t realize I needed until I had to deal with a badly build Illustrator file? Funny how ages ago I recall doing this in Freehand so easy, and yet even after killing the app Adobe still couldn’t manage to bring its best functionality over.

Guess I shouldn’t be surprised that Adobe can’t manage to fold all their old Uservoice forums together in any kind of timely way when we can’t even expect consistency in their own “suite”.

If you can’t wait for Adobe to incorporate this function in its stock tool set the PathScribe Tool in the Astute Graphics VectorScribe plugin can do what you’re asking. You can manually add direction point handles to a selection and move those points all at once. The PathScribe panel has a button that will select all direction point handles on a path so they can all be moved at the same time. A polygon can be turned into a flower shape in just a couple or so clicks and drags.
