I am trying to save a project. Unfortunately after clicking save and then OK in the next window, I'm told "This file cannnot be found"....what is the issue? I've tried save as. I've tried to save as a PDF...same message

Without any system info and critical details like the actual document specs, where you are trying to save it and so on nobody can tell you much.

Had you perhaps saved the file somewhere previously and then moved it while it was still open? Just taking a stab here.
