File Name Can't Copy/Paste to While Saving

This has been a persistant issue for months over many app updates. I found the solution for Photoshop (toggle off “Enable Modern User Interface”), but there doesn’t seem to be one for Illustrator and it’s slowing me down so much.

When I’m saving a file in Illustrator, I’m unable to copy text and paste it into the save dialog box as the file name. Nothing happens at command V. I have to manually type a file name each new file save. This is time consuming, stupid, and I’m going insane I can’t just copy what I need into the dialog box in Illustrator. I copy text inside Illustrator, outside Illustrator, try to paste into the save dialog box and same result, nothing.

My specs: iOS 26.7. Illustrator v30.8.2

For the love of all things holy, if it’s suggested I try testing if this happens in Safe Mode I will run through a wall. Looking through various community posts for the other programs, espeically the one they most recently figured out the Photoshop workaround, this problem in Illustrator has come up many, many times, it’s not just my tech. It’s an app problem, Adobe. 

What’s the actual solution to copy/paste working like it should, that is not me using Safe Mode?
