File too large to send through email

Hi everyone,

 

I usually use ¨sketchbook¨ so im not familiar with Illustrator at all. I have some artwork that has so be sent in AI form to specific requirements but when i save it its too large  44.5MB and the cut off to send by email is 33MB. i have reduced the size of the artboard, i have reduced the dpi, i have deleted & merged layers, i have tried everything a youtube video specified and nothing is working to reduce the size. please help i need to send it ASAP. the file needs to be in AI, editable.

If you are simply using AI as a wrapping for raster artwork (which in itself may explain the large file size), I believe it may be unsatisfactory for the receiver, or even incompatible with the equipment to further process it.

If you are simply using AI as a wrapping for raster artwork (which in itself may explain the large file size), I believe it may be unsatisfactory for the receiver, or even incompatible with the equipment to further process it.

Instead of email you could try it with a link to CC filesharing or a service like WeTransfer.

What happens when you uncheck "PDF compatibility" when saving as an AI file?
