Fill Symbols using appearance panel

Hi!

I'm using then appearence panel to fill a symbol (with nested symbols) with a single color. The problem is that The fill seems bugged. and is incapable to fill all the vector. as you can see here:

If there is a solution or workaround to make nested symbols to get a single fill (I want each part of the final symbol to be updated to any adjust to the originals pieces) please share.

As per your description, I'm not sure what you are doing.

 

Can you share a sample Illustrator file with some instructions about the initial objects and the desired result. Also, clarify how you are trying to use the Appearance palette in that case.
