filling colour on imported world map

Hello,

I have a problem - I need to change colours of each country, but I couldn't do it. I was looking for a tutorial, but can't find anyone which solve my problem.

I imported this map to Adobe Illustration and stuck.

Could you give me some tips, how to change it? I will be very grateful.

Is that vector artwork?

You might need to first trace the map. Or maybe it's a linked PDF, then you need to embed it.

Then use Live paint to fill it with color.
