Filling in shapes with colour created with lines within a shape.

Hi there,

I added these four lines into this hexagon making them two strips eithet side of the hexagon shape. I'd like to fill them in with a black colour but it only seems to fill the whole hexagon shape when I try and fill them?  I tried to select all, then group, ungroup but it just doesn't seem to fill the two strips? Could someone please help?
