Fit picture into artboard

For some reason, I am now unable to make a picture/file fit in the artboard.  I am able to move it around, but not make it smaller.  The guides around the original are only in the corner and not in the middle.  What do I need to change to make it work?

    How exactly  are you trying to make this smaller, they another method

    • enter values in transform palette
    • option click with scale tool

    to get the guides in the middle use the transform or pinter tool, the scale tool will only have points in 4 corners.

    let us know what is working wand what is not, and see shovel be able to better troubleshoot this for you.

    I have the artboard the size that I need.  When I place the picture in my artboard, it's small and needs to be bigger.  Somehow I've clicked on something and only have option to move my picture in the artboard.  I can drag the corners or the size to fit.
