Font behaves differently in Illustrator than in Photoshop or Indesign

I'm working with Kia's font, and in Photoshop and Indesign it shows up in as Kia Signature, but in Illustrator the name of the font is (presumably) in Korean. It also behaves strangely in Illustrator. Like if start typing in a text box with that font, any additional charcters I type (even if I type them between two existing characters in Kia Signature) are in Minion Pro. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the fonts and I've tried both the TTF and OTF versions, and this issue persists. Any idea how to fix? Thanks in advance!

The type bug is fixed in the beta release. Hopefully that fix will roll out to the regular GA release very soon.

For the first point, go to Preferences > Type > Show Font Names in English

This is on by default in Photoshop and InDesign, but off by default in Illustrator.

For the second point, that sounds like a known bug in the current point release of Illustrator:

Font changes from the current one to the previously used while typing – Adobe Illustrator

Thanks, Doug. I should have known the preferences would be different in Illustrator, considering all the shortcuts that are different! hopefully the bug gets fixed soon!
