Question

Font changes without intent to change it

Hi.  A colleague of mine opened up a working document in Adobe Illustrator CC2015 v 19.2.1 for MAC, and to his surprise, the fonts had all changed to Myriad Pro from our corporate font standard FS Albert Pro. This was not done intentionally. I myself have seen this happen with certain blocks of text but never the entire document. Any other experiences with this? And, anyone know why this happens?

Myriad Pro is the default font for Illustrator. It will substitute for fonts that are supposed to be in the document if the intended fonts are not open on the computer's system. If you are using a font management utility like Suitcase or FontExplorer then check to see if the correct fonts are activated. Otherwise check in the appropriate locations on your system to see if the fonts are installed correctly.

You can tell if what I said in my first post is happening by enabling the "Highlight Substituted Fonts" option in the Type section of Illustrator's preferences as shown below:

Any fonts that are not open on the computer's system or through its font management utility will be highlighted in a sickly salmon color.

Do you use font management?

Yes we do. We use Font Agent Pro.

Can you check if it works better without the font management?
