Font compatibility

Hi, I need to deliver a fully functional file to a client. Her original file contained a couple of fonts HelveticaNeueLTStd Lt and HelveticaNeueLTStd Roman which my software never found. I worked with the typical Helvetica Neue and delivered the files this way, but now she can't see the actual fonts in my files. She says she is using an authorised and updated version of Illustrator. What is going on and how can I fix it?

I sense your client may be on a PC and cannot read your Mac fonts.  To check for sure, ask her to send you the fonts.  If they are Mac OT fonts, then you can load them into your font database and replace what you used with her versions.  Then, she will be able to open the live file and her fonts should be there in the file.  If she is using PC versions then you might have to purchase the Mac versions if they are not Open Type fonts.

Are you both on the same system?

What did you deliver? the AI file? the fonts?

What kind of fonts are they?

Thanks for taking the time to help, Monika. I've written the fonts' names in the original post. I delivered the .ai containing the fonts. I don't know what OS is she using. I've sent her a test typing the fonts' names in the corresponding property box, and apparently this is working for her, even though my Illustrator marks them as not found in pink.
