Free Transform tool issue

I have to reset my Illustrator 2024 preferences several times a day in order for the options for the Free Transform Tool to appear onscreen.

I've not been able to pinpoint when or why they disappear. The basic tool is still available but the perspective and distort options are no longer visible.

Are the options hidden but available elsewhere?

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.

If you grab the tool panel and move it to the side - is the options bar perhaps below that?
