freezing and lagging when selecting layers and moving objects

"I often experience freezing and lagging when selecting layers and moving objects using Adobe Illustrator on my MacBook M1 Pro. What could be wrong? Are there any specific settings? And has anyone experienced the same thing?"

I'm having the same problem too. I did not have such a problem before when using a 3060 graphics card and an i5 12th generation processor. I have renewed my system, I am using an i5 13th generation processor and a 4060 TI video card. There are freezing and lag problems when zooming in, zooming out and moving objects in Illustrator. Like a joke.

Hello @ALPER358235852y4i,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and setting the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/3wCf8g1) and checking if it helps? Also, try manually reset Illustrator's preferences and share your observations:

 

For Windows

- Close all Adobe applications.

- Go to Location C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe

- Rename Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Illustrator 28 Settings folders to Adobe Illustrator.old and Adobe Illustrator - 28 Settings.old

- Relaunch Illustrator from Creative Cloud

 

Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders in case you want to. The location is mentioned above.

üzgünüm ama çözüm olmadı. Sorunun ekran kartımda olduğunu düşünmüyorum çünkü farklı programlarda böyle bir hata almıyorum. Daha önce kullandığım bilgisayar bundan daha kötüydü ama hiçbir sorun yaşamıyordum. Yaptığınız güncellemeler bence problem yaratıyor, premiere proda da benzer sorunlar yaşıyorum. Timeline da yer alan projemi yürütmekte gecikiyor ve ilk defa böyle bir şeyle karşılaşıyorum. Eğer devam ederse üyeliğimi sonlandırıp alternatif programlara yöneleceğim.

Is this happening on Sonoma?

Sonoma itself is a pain in the rear.

 

But if you have the Magnet app installed, you could try and get rid of it and see if that helps.

magnet application is the cause, now adobe illustrator is running perfectly without lagg,

I'm glad to hear that removing the Magnet application resolved the lagging issue in Adobe Illustrator for you. However, if you still have the app installed, could you please check and share a few observations with us:

  • Is this issue reproducible in CPU preview or outline preview?
  • Can you provide the exact version of Adobe Illustrator and macOS installed on your MacBook M1 Pro?
  • Additionally, could you share your system information from the Help menu > System Info? Please copy and paste it into a text file and share it with us here.
