Hey guys, just wondering if there would be some way to have some sort of fur effect to add to an animal.

DSepends on what fur, what animal and what detail level. You need to be much more specific. From having to add thousands of strands as brush strokes to using patterns to simple trickery with gradients shimmering across "fur" this could be anything.
