Gaussian Blur not clipped by clipping mask - Illustrator 29.8.1 on Windows 11

I have a group of simple shapes with gaussian blur applied. I have used a rectangle to clip the edges however this does not work at all. You can see where the blur is showing beyond the rest of the artwork’s edge below after exporting as PNG. Using Adobe Illustrator 29.8.5.

I’ve run the same export again and it’s working now. So just Illustrator being buggy.

Also, can you share a sample Illustrator file where it happens when exporting to .png?

What route are you using to export to .png?

    • File > Export > Export as
    • File > Export > Export for Screens
    • File > Export > Save for Web

Can you check in the layers panel if all your objects are inside the clipping mask?

They are. It’s a vert straightforward mask, it’s the blur that’s showing beyond the mask boundaries.
