Getting substitute for preferences -> "automatic bulleted and numbered lists" in older version

Hello,

I'm using an older version of Illustrator (25.1) and would like to keep this version because I know it works so far.

When I got files from a customer some bulleted text got turned into paths.

We figured out, this is because the customer uses a newer version which has the option: preferences -> "Automatic bulleted and numbered lists while typing".

In my version's preferences this option is missing.

Is there another way to keep the bulleted text as editable text in my Illustrator version?

I'm getting that as well when opening a file with a list in Illustrator 2021.

Your customer can change that by turning the list into text from the Type menu.

Or you install the new version alongside your old version, which is perfectly possible

thank you. yes I'll probably have to use both versions at the same time.

There was no support for automatic lists in older versions. What gets turned into paths? The bullets or the entire text object?
