Give the client editable file

Sometimes the client wants to give editable file such as PSD or Ai file. Can I give the client the design as PSD or Ai file or give it only pdf or png , JPG. 

 

Example: I design social media post using Photoshop  and then give the client the design in format jpeg, or PSD file.

You can give the client the editable file. This is completely within the license agreement.
What you can't give them is fonts (neither Adobe fonts nor other fonts) and original (unedited) stock images.

Be aware that when clients want the source files that this will be a onetime job. You likely won't get follow-up jobs. So you better set the rate according to that. And also be prepared that the client might completely ruin your design.
