Question

Global and Spot Swatches can not be edited

Windows 11 Enterprise, v24H2 on a 13th gen Intel R Core i7-13700K (3.40 GHz), 128 Mb Graphics Card and 32 gb RAM, Adobe Illustrator V30.0.

I am no longer able to edit any global or spot swatch. All options are grayed out. The only way I can do it is to copy the swatch and edit it before I save it. Once it is saved, all links to the option panel are grayed out again. I work for a financial institution so all access to Libraries and automatic updates are turned off. I can’t even delete the swatch. This is driving me crazy and causing issues.

I had my IT department reload the 29.8.4 version and my swatches are back to normal. I can’t load the 30.1 because it is beta and they don’t let us have beta versions. But they will let us load patches when needed. Maybe this should be a bug report?

You may have done this already, but when unexpected things happen, restarting your machine or resetting Preferences sometimes help.

Yep, I’ve done all the things. The screen shot is from a fresh file after I restarted my system. I can’t uninstall with out my IT department getting involved so I am trying to avoid doing that.

I see, there is probably not much you can do if you depend on IT for updates (there is a 30.1 version) or reverting to older versions.
