Glyph corruption when pasting custom Unicode text from web sources into Illustrator text frames

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue with character rendering in Adobe Illustrator (latest version on Windows 11).

When copying stylized Unicode text generated from web platforms like <irrelevant link removed-kglad> and pasting it directly into a standard text box, some characters display as empty boxes (tofu glyphs) or drop entirely, even when using common OpenType fonts like Montserrat or Arial.

Here is what I've tried so far:
- Resetting the Type tool preferences.
- Checking 'Enable Missing Glyph Protection' in Preferences > Type.
- Changing font fallback settings.

Is there a specific setting in Illustrator or Typekit to force proper UTF-8 character encoding for custom glyphs pasted from external web sources? 

Any insights or recommended workflows would be greatly appreciated!

    This is likely more of a font glyph support issue than UTF-8 encoding, so trying a font that includes those specific Unicode characters may help. Thanks for sharing the troubleshooting steps—they're as useful as a good betqq game download recommendation.

    Thank you @leo.r, I appreciate the guidance! I will move this over to the Illustrator board as suggested. 

    Just to clarify for reference before I post there: the issue occurs specifically when testing custom mathematical alphanumeric symbols generated from web utilities like conversorderletras.com (or similar UTF-8 text transformers) into standard Type layers. 

    I'll frame the new post with more technical details around OpenType fallback fonts and UTF-8 glyph ranges. Thanks again!
