Hello @Paul29522713ieok,

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience performance issues in Illustrator, especially in the middle of work. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika and Bobby helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/optimize-illustrator-performance.html) and perform a clean reinstallation of the GPU drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD), and set the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-110) and check if it helps.

Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and sharing your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Which version of Adobe Illustrator is installed in your PC? The Radeon RX 6500 M is a fairly new graphics board (released 2022). I would be surprised if the latest versions of Adobe Illustrator didn't utilize that type of graphics board for GPU acceleration.

Are there any available updates for your computer's graphics card? I would make sure the drivers are up to date. If they are up to date the next trouble shooting step would be to reset Illustrator's Preferences file. If that doesn't work I would then try completely removing and re-installing Adobe Illustrator using the Adobe CC Cleaner tool.

16 GB of RAM is not a lot.

How much RAM is on your graphics card?

Illustrator likes Studio drivers more than Gaming drivers for your card

Please do also check: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/system-requirements.html
