Question

GPU performance causes lag on RTX 4000 Ada (Illustrator 2026, driver 591.59)

Version 2026 (30.1) from an illustrator.
Windows 11 OS:
Nvidia RTX 4000 Ada, GPU
Driver: NVIDIA Studio 591.59

Description:
It is constantly quite deliberate.

Illustrator's less responsive behavior (delay when zooming, panning, and object handling) starts when GPU Performance is enabled.
Disabling GPU Performance improves Illustrator's response and smoothness noticeably.

This occurs even on sparse or blank papers.
The problem is reproducible and unrelated to file complexity.

Expected conduct:
GPU acceleration should boost rather than lower performance.

My computer's NVidia app installation shows the current Studio Driver version as being 591.44 (released 12/4/2025). Is your computer running a newer version of the Studio Driver?

Hi domenico28012774ncmb,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble. Would you mind performing a clean reinstallation of the GPU(s) drivers (Intel / NVIDIA / AMD) and setting the Graphics Preference to High-Performance for Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/44ArPGr) and checking if it helps?

If the problem persists, we will need additional information to help you with this scenario:
1. AiSniffer file:- Close all Adobe applications.- Navigate to the Illustrator Preferences folder and copy the AiSniffer file to the desktop from this location:%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 28 Settings\en_US\x64\

2. For the System Report, kindly follow these steps:- Please press Windows Key + the letter "R" on your keyboard to bring up the Run command window- Type "msinfo32" in the Open field and left-click OK- While viewing the Microsoft System Information summary, go to File, then choose Save (Please do not use Export)- Save your MSINFO32 report as "msinfo32.nfo" on your desktop to easily locate it after. It can take up to a minute to generate a report.

Kindly upload the files and a small screen recording of your workflow to Google Drive/Dropbox/etc, and share a public link here or via DM so that we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Harshika
