Gradient for each letter
I'd like to make the gradient start and stop in each letter?
i've convereted the text to outlines but the gradient starts at the beginning of the word and ends on the last letter.

If you for any reason have made your outlined letters into a Compound Path, they will be treated as one big object and the gradient will apply accordingly. If you immediately apply your gradient to the type after Converting To Outlines, the gradients will apply as you desire.
Unfortunately, it's not as simple as Releasing the Compound to undo this, as that will also affect your counters (holes) in your letters. you may have to go back to live type and start again.
