Gradient is not working when put it on to image in Illustrator 2024

I am placing a gradient on top of a image (not masking it). And gradient style is like opacity gradient, one colour opacity is 0 and other colour is 100. Also I have kept the transperency to normal. The main problem is when I do the same thing on my 2020 illustrator it is working properly but, when I am doing the same thing in 2024 illustrator it is not working.  The first picture is the 2020 Illustrator and the second is 2024 illustrator. Please anybody help me
