Gradient Stroke Won't edit.

I am just learning to use gradient colors. They're fascinating. The illusion of shading and highlits. Love it. I am editing my own gradients, which is cool. Thanks Adobe. Problem is, I can edit the Fill of my gradients, but when I try to edit the Stroke, it doesnt work.

If you prefer, you can also just click and drag a gradient stop off the bar, but the trash can works fine.

My Tool tip has a little circle with a cross line in it and wont let me edit, how do I fix?
