Question

Gradient without resulting center color?

Before I begin, let me say I figure this isn't even theoretically possible, but needed to ask:

I have a gradient the goes from redish orange on the left to cool blue on the right (hot to cold theme).Whenever you have colors that overlap or blend, it's inevitable that you get its resulting color. In this case Red + Blue = purple, or in my gradient, pink. The pink is really throwing off the theme and very distracting.

Is there a magical way to prevent the blenging of colors in Illustrator (and Photoshop)? I figure the only way I'll be able to this is to have two shapes, one red, one blue, and have them meet in the middle or something like that.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Your time and any feedback would be appreciated.

Can you show an example of the blend?

If you don't like the intermediate result of blending the 2 colors, could you add a 3rd color in the middle that you like better?
