Question

Gradual copy paste issues in Illustrator and to Indesign

Good day,

I've been experiencing an issue on my work laptop for about a month now with the copy paste function in Illustrator. At first I thought it may have been a bug in the new update, but I do not experience this issue on my personal desktop, using the same files.

I've read in a few similar though very old threads here that a anti-virus may interfere with this function, so I uninstalled those. Sadly, nothing changed. I've also tried turning on and off "Include SVG code" with no success.

Here's what happens:
I create a new file (or open an older one) and start making shapes. I group some shapes together and go in and out of the groups, copypasting some elements. This works for about 1-5 minutes, then gradually I start to notice it isn't copying or pasting anymore. This gradually becomes worse and worse untill it becomes unmanageble to work with.

I am not extremely tech savy, so if there are any logs I could share, please let me know where I could find these 🙂

Any help is apreciated, thank you!

THis is the list of apps which are known to interfere with Illustrator's clipboard:

  • Parallels Toolbox running with the Clipboard History
  • TeamVewer Clipboard > Use Shared Clipboard
  • Apple iOS device simulator from Xcode
  • Windows Multi-clipboard
  • Windows Clipboard History
  • Chrome Remote Desktop
  • Mouse Pointer Highlighter
  • AnyViewer
  • Pastebot app
  • Overzealous antivirus (Digital Guardian) as well as viruses that empty the clipboard
  • Vector Magic

I forgot to add that the copy paste stops working in general, also outside of grouped elements.
