Have you tried GIFStudio, the extension for creating animated GIF Files with Illustrator?

Hi everyone,

If you ever come to create animated GIF files with Illustrator, you probably entered the Illustrator to Photoshop workflow and noticed that it was a bit tedious. This is why I created GIFStudio, an extension that let you create, set up, preview, and export animated files out of Illustrator.

For example, it's easy to animate a fixed image like this one:
