Help ASAP! Just updating AI CC

I just updated my illustrator CC and now whenever I open a document to work on, my cursor blinks over and over, almost like something is trying to load. I'm not able to select anything and whenever I try to click on a menu like "file" or "edit", the drop down just keeps disappearing. UGH! Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it? I have projects due by the end of the weekend... 😕😕

Oh, I'm running on microsoft (surface pro 4) if that helps.
