Help, I can't click and drag points

Question

Hello All, i have the newest update to Illustrator and have been a designer for almost 30 years. This is a new one for me. I am working on some artwork. I click on another file and go bnack to this file and all of a sudden I can't move any of the points with my mouse. If I use arrows it works, I can aslo Use Isolated Select Path to adjust. But I have lost the ability to select points and move them freely on the regular. Now its doing it with ALL of my files. I have shutdown and restarted, I have restarted the app multiple. This is slowing my workflow down immensely. This just started happening about two weeks ago. When I retart the machine in the mornings, the app works fine. Then after a while, it starts doing this again. No workaround has helped. This is getting old. I shouldn't have these issues with how much I spend on this software!

So I found the issue this time..... If you have a placed raster image you are drawing over the top of, it hangs up the vector if you are drawing on top of the raster image. As soon as I removed the image behind the vector, I was able to click and drag on any points with no issue. Dumb Bug.

Can you check if there are any apps/utilities running with Illustrator that could cause this?

You could try if resetting Preferences helps, after making a backup of your settings: Edit > My Settings > Save Settings and backup of preferences.

If that does not help try to get the version installed that worked before the update.
