Question

Help? Ilustrator files on my Laptop not opening when I double-click them from my desktop.

Hi,

I'm working on a MacBook Pro/OS Montery v12.5.1. My Illustrator is updated to the latest version.

My issue is when I double click my files from the desktop-->Illustrator opens, but not my file. Well, it's there in the preview home page that shows all recent files opened, but then I have to double click my file on that page to open again. Also, when I open it this way, sometimes you can't even see the file in the preveiw/recents- it's just an empty gray box. I open it anyway and the file opens, but then I have to size down alot to find my image/artboard.

Make sense? Any and all help is much appreciated!

Ron

Ok so that is weird. It is still working, but when I check Preferences/Performance....the GPU is checked and back on. So, I'm confused lol.

Hello rudiskey,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try enabling Full Disk Access for Illustrator by following the steps shared in this article (https://support.avast.com/en-in/article/allow-mac-full-disk-access/#pc) and check if it helps.

Also, kindly check if the Desktop and Document folders are added to iCloud Drive and if so, kindly save your work on a different location that is not an external/network drive or a cloud-synced folder and share your observations.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav
