HELP! No sticky preferences?

(30.0) The new Illustrator's tools (pen, brushes, pencil) can't remember the style of an object. It's forcing me to assign a style to each object I draw. No sticky preferences?? Jobs are now taking me twice as long. What happened? Can I revert to an earlier version of AI?
