Help - Transparency blend on white background

I hope this is a simple fix and I am missing something very obvious. I would like to see the original colour of the dark green shapes in the images below. When I hide the transparency grid, I see the original colour, which is great. However, when I show the transparency grid, and use a white background, the colour of the shapes disappears - this is obviously the way they show when I export them. Is there any way to retain the original colour when the object is blending with the other shapes (the light green)? I could of course separate the overlap into new shapes, but I like the flexibility of being able to move the entire shape around.

Using Adobe Illustrator 2025

Unfortunately that doesn't work either

If you select just the light and dark green objects, group them and check the Isolate Blending option, it should work.

If not, can you share an example file? Save as PDF to attach it to a forum post.

Try using another blend mode.

I have tried multiple blend modes with the same outcome.

I should say - with slightly different outcomes! But not the one that I would like...
