Help with new Illustrator update and unwanted color profile conversion issue.

Having so much trouble with this Illustrator update. Crashed, froze, crashed, rebooted, reupdated, couple of hours wasted. I updated again and finally it's working but now every file I open it says the color profile is wrong and wants to change it to RGB. I am working on print jobs and I don't want my color profiles changed, especially to RGB! If you don't accept the change the file won't open. HELP! What can be done to stop this?

@Sharon Z PrintExp I believe you have this problem. The warning about a missing profile is wrong and can be ignored.

Can you check this? https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/50311548-recent-colors-become-none-when-global-or-spot-colo

Thank you. As I mentioned the tech did many hours of work to my system yesterday and I'm working in a previous version now. For instance, even though the updates are supposed to uninstall the old version and put in the new, it leaves a lot of files behind. I watched her delete hundreds of MB's of Adobe files and temp files left behind. there were files from every version since 2020 when we went to CC subscription on my system. Perhaps there are a lot of conflicting settings especially in the color realm with the newest version as it wants to sync with Creative Cloud settings, but I have mine set for the work I do. There were also issues with constant synching eating tons of memory she fixed. Thank you so very much for the advise and help. I could NOT have done all the work this very smart, very kind technical person did yesterday and without her help, I still wouldn't be able to work at all. Grateful Adobe has that kind of help.

Hello @Sharon Z PrintExp,

The product team has fixed this in the latest Pre-Release version of Illustrator. Could you try installing Illustrator Pre-Release version 29.8 and letting us know if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

@Sharon Z PrintExp Another question, do you use Global Swatch colors in your document?

No, I'm using Pantone swatches for spot color but custom cmyk for most everything else. I found and turned off the setting conversion, but still getting the warning on everything i open. I suspect creative cloud wants desktop settings to match their cloud settings, but I was dialed in nicely and my print jobs look great and I don't want them converted, especially to rgb.

@Sharon Z PrintExp , do you have the latest Illustrator version that adds your Recent Colors to the Swatches Panel?

That triggers for me a warning about missing profiles.
