Highlighting text with double click without following space

Hello everyone,

I work with a lot of text elements that describe dimensions. I double-click on the text to change only the numeric value, i.e. in – 100 mm – I only need to select 100. Unfortunately, I can only select the 100 and the following space, which makes the whole procedure more complicated. I was wondering if anyone had already come across the problem I describe and found a solution.
