Question

Hovering mouse on artboard make it moves towards right after updating to Illustrator v27.4

I just updated last night. I'm having issues, when the mouse goes over the artboard the whole thing begins to move to the right without me doing anything. If I move over a toolbar it stops. Then if I go back over the artboard area it begins to move again. I have changed the mouse and rebooted the system. still happens. How can I fix this?

Hello @lost4word,

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with Illustrator v27.4. It's definitely unusual behavior, and I understand how frustrating it can be. Let's try a couple of steps to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Would you mind updating to v27.4.1 or v27.5, which rolled out in some countries, and see if that helps?
  • Reset Illustrator Preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html
Keep in mind that resetting preferences will set Illustrator back to its default settings, so you may need to adjust any custom preferences you had set up previously.
  • Check for conflicts with other software: Ensure that there are no other applications running in the background that could be causing conflicts with Illustrator. Some utilities or other software may interfere with the normal functioning of Illustrator. If you can identify any such software, try temporarily disabling or uninstalling it to see if the issue persists.
  • Run Illustrator in Safe Mode: Windows/ Mac
Boot your system in Safe Mode and launch Illustrator. This will help determine if the issue is related to third-party software or system conflicts. If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it's likely that some other software or system setting is causing the problem.

If the issue persists even after trying these suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again. We're here to help you resolve this issue.
