Question

How can I access my recovered files in mac?

My illustrator was crashing out and it wouldn't let me save my file even if it was on the cloud. After reopening it, it didn't show the recovery pop up and I just lost 3 hours of work. I'm trying to find the recovery folder to see if it saved a copy of my file before it crashed out but every forum I see online is either for microsoft or the finder bar text doesn't lead me to anything. How can I access this please help 😭

Illustrator mainly saves them in a hidden recovery folder on Mac. On Mac: Open Finder, click Go > Go to Folder…, and paste this in: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator [your version]/en_US/DataRecovery

You can also check the temporary files. To avoid this next time, turn on Preferences > File Handling & Clipboard > Automatically Save Recovery Data Every X Minutes and set it to something like 2–3 minutes.

Hello @ximenacastro,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind confirming if the file was saved locally on your computer or as a cloud document?

Also, for help with crashes, would you mind confirming the version of the OS/Illustrator installed and whether this happens when working with a particular tool/feature, so we can better assist you? Additionally, try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://adobe.ly/4mOv3gC) and let us know if they help.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
