How can I get a consistent blend on the laser marks throughout the (gray) length wire, taper and curves?

I have created blends to represent a laser-mark effect on a metal wire. The wire has a taper/curves. How can I get a consistent blend on the laser marks throughout the (gray) length wire, taper and curves?

I don’t think I understand what you want to have and where in that illustration.

See the screen captures attached. Is there a better way to create the laser marks than what I am doing currently? I’m having difficulty keeping the blends equally spaced, even though I have tried to do the “specified distance” and “specified steps”  in the blends.

In order to define the spacing in the blend, use the handles of your blend spine.

Apart from that: have you tried brushes? Probably make a straight blend, then an art brush? Or make a pattern brush instead of a blend altogether.
