How can I join two anchor points from different paths

Hi, I need to join two different paths. I made them with "Pen tool". One path is closed and the second one path is open and I don't know how can I join them, because "Join path" or "Unite" doesn't work and I don't know how to fix this problem.

    You cannot join 3 path segments in one point. 

    Do you need that for filling with color? Try Live paint.

      Thank you very much. Yes, I needed for filling with color and it didn't work, because paths doesn't join.

      It works with the tool that you recommended, so I am happy and grateful.
