How can I round the corners of a simple line?

So, I am currently working on a small project. I am kinda new to Illustrator and I was trying to make a path that has rounded corners (Picture below), but I have no idea how to get them like that. I tried Effect-stylize-round corners but that didn't work. Does anybody know how to do this? Solution is highly appreciated
