How do I convert a text frame back to a regular object?

Occasionally I'll accidentally click the type tool on an object or a photo and turn it in to a text frame without realizing it, and by the time I catch it it's too late to back up and undo. Is there any way to convert the text frame back into a regular object at this point? Otherwise I have to re-create the whole shape, since copying/pasting it just retains the text frame attribute.

Thanks for any advice!

Select the path with the group selection tool. You need to make sure to click on the path exactly.

Copy and paste.

Ah ha! That worked. Thank you so very much! Wouldn't have occurred to me to use the Group Selection tool.

You're welcome.

The group selection tool ensures that you select the complete path, that's all.
