How do I disable 3D from Envelope Distort?

I only want 2D envelope distort.

Envelope distort is not associated with 3D.

Are you referring to the bending? You can edit the envelope and adjust it using the direct selection tool or the gradient mesh tool.

I cannot edit it with the direct selection tool, because the shape is already filled, so I cannot modify it further.

I need it in that exact shape.

It's 3D simulation.

It's clearly visible that envelope distort simulates 3D.

As long as it hasn't been expanded, a mesh can be edited. Even if there is already something in it.
