How do I keep these brushes here without resetting every time I close Illustrator?

Did you check the Persistent option from the brush panel menu?

Are those libraries saved to your harddisk? If they are on a server you might have a hard time even with the "Persistent" setting. For some people it does not work even when the server is mounted.
