How do I make a object decrease in size but increase in distance

How would I achieve this effect in AI. I have tried to use the transform function but this only allows me to decrease size and distance. I would like the object to decrease in size and increase in distance. Thanks!

You could try a blend between a wide and a narrow object.

Object > Blend > Make
