How do I make a sharp point using the wide tool?

I am trying to make a stroke that goes to a point like a skateboard ramp. Right now I am using the line and the widen tool. I shrank one side down to the middle but it will not let me move past the middle of the stroke. I tried doing the same with a rectangle too but the same problem. 

I want the shape to be something like this,
