How do I reset a placed image to the original image's proportions?

I can see in my links pallet that the image is not the correct proportions but I'm not seeing a reset function to fix this. Am I missing something?

Select the linked image. In the Links palette flyout menu, go to Placement Options and check if the Preserve Proportions (Fill) option or the Preserve File Dimensions option may help.

This way does not work if your images are embedded.

    Hello @Juandi31167554mv7o,

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind trying the following steps to check if they help:

    > Select your linked image.
    > Click on the linked image option from the Properties panel.

    > Select the menu option from the window and choose Placement Options

    > Under Placement options, change the Preserver option to Proportions (Fit) and click OK

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thanks,

    Anubhav

I would try what Kurt suggested. If that doesn't work, you might have to place the image again.

If you go to Image Properties for that image and reset scaling to 100%, it will return to original proportions.

This is good, but brings up another issue. lately, all my placed images have been coming in as embedded. This appears to be the new Adobe default. How do I change them to linked? Relinking no longer works to do this.

During placing, show options and check the Link checkbox. This should be sticky next time.
