How do I turn off scrubby zoom in Illustrator CC2014?

AWESOME!  That was easy.

Turn it off under GPU Settings (the status still shows "unanswered").

It seems like Adobe would set this up just like the other tools: double-click the zoom tool in the toolbar to access the settings for it. Let us decide if we hate this terrible feature or not.

Thanks for the fix! So aggravating when Adobe turns features on like this, calls them differently than Photoshop and the solution to turn it off is different than Photoshop. SO annoying!

It's crap like this that makes me not want to update, which is the whole point of having CC. Gah!

I'm glad it's not just me who found this wholly unnecessary change aggravating.

And then switching it on by default, burying deactivation under GPU and giving it another name than is commonly used in PS. So logical, so intuitive!  It's as if an update isn't an update without something that pisses people off.

I hear that CC2016 will change the UI colour to cerise, and group all the tools in on the belt of a gremlin anim that follows the mouse. There will be no Export option option, only 'Cast Spell' and Undo will be voice-activated by bellowing 'BAD ILLUSTRATOR!' into the mic.

why would you call it animated zoom when it's called scrubby zoom in photoshop.

seriously people. do you not have someone there that checks for consistency?

Same issue in the new 2015, and its under GPU Performance > Animated Zoom.

Unchecked that steaming pile as soon as I could find it.
