I have tried putting it in the font folder of my OS...but it's not showing up in my available fonts within Illustrator.

I just put them in an arbitrary "Font" folder I've created then double-click the font to install it using Font Book.

Hi Mimsy,

Thanks for reaching out. I am hopeful that the issue is resolved by the steps shared above. If not, you may also take a look at this help article: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/fonts.html

Let us know if that helps or if you need any further assistance.

Regards,

Srishti

If it is a non western font, check if Preferences > Type > "Show Font Names in English" is checked.

You may have put into the wrong font folder, would need to know the entire file path.

Use font book to manage fonts on mac, and load them from wherever you store on your harddrive

Macintosh HD/Applications/Font Book.app

If you still have issues let us know name of font may bne a thing like New Baskerviulle shows up under ITC New Baskerville.
