How do you make custom color bullets/styles in Illustrator like in InDesign?

With the update to Illustrator (August 2022) you can now create simple bullet or number lists. However, how do you customize the color or style of the bullets? I cannot figure it out.

Thanks!

Another trick has been posted on Twitter. It uses effects, but can only change the coloring. https://twitter.com/coro46/status/1556621831427072000

Currently, there are only some cumbersome dirty tricks to do it.

Have already been discussed here recently.

Thank you. Maybe not using the bullet too and manually setting it like the old ways is best if you need to customize!
