Question

How to avoid merged layers when exporting .ai file to Photoshop?

Hi,

I'm trying to export an .ai file to .psd and keep all layers as they are. I ungrouped them all, checked the "Write Layers" and Maximum Editability and when I open the file in Photoshop, some layers that should not be merged are merged..

I tried introducing a dummy layer between each merged layer and it didn't work as it used to.. Is there any new or better solution I don't know about?

Thank you. Any help would be appreciated.

Stay away from transparency or overprinting

Yes, I know about that but I don't have transparency or overprinting in my file... There are simple tables with solid colors..nothing special...
